Antibiotics found in meat products in Nizhny Novgorod and Tyumen region

Employees of the Nizhny Novgorod laboratory of chemical and toxicological research have identified antibiotics in MEAT samples “Semi-finished product from frozen poultry meat - Romanovsky chicken chops” and “Semi-finished product from pork. Chilled pork ham.

These products do not meet the safety criteria of Florfenicol. According to the press service of the NRC ROSSELKHOZNADZOR , some employers deliberately add antibiotics to products in order to increase the shelf life. 

And the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Tyumen region, Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs revealed antibiotics in the meat products of the Tyumen enterprise.

In April, they conducted an unscheduled on-site inspection of the pig-breeding enterprise LLC Soglasie. In May 2021, the results of studies of 11 product samples selected during the inspection were received from the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Central Scientific and Methodological Veterinary Laboratory".

An antibiotic of the lincosamide group, lincomycin, was found in 7 samples. Antibiotics were found in “Rublenye” manti, “Homemade” boiled chilled sausage with bacon, “Selskaya” boiled sausage, “Derevenskaya” half-smoked sausage, “Tyumensky” half-smoked servelat sausage, “Tirolsky” sausages, “Vienna” sausage.

Administrative proceedings have been initiated against the legal entity and official of “Consent” LLC under Part 2 of Art. 14.43 Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. On May 12, 2021, the enterprise was issued orders to terminate declarations of conformity.

Just yesterday, the representative of the World Organization for Animal HEALTH (OIE) in the Russian Federation, Jean Percher, said at the summit “Russian Agricultural Policy. Product safety and quality”, that the active use of antibiotics in the food industry in five years can return us to the world that was before the discovery of antibiotics.
