At the end of October 2021, the founder of Cherkizovo Group PJSC Igor Babaev announced the restart of production and the intention in the short term to increase its capacity to 10.5 thousand heads per hour (approximately 120 thousand tons of live poultry and 100 thousand tons of chicken MEAT in slaughter weight). The cost of the project was estimated at 10 billion rubles.
After the fire, not only the workshops were rebuilt, but the area of assets was also expanded. Last fall, six new buildings were opened at broiler growing sites in the Zonal District of the Altai Territory: their number increased to 62, and 80 additional vacancies appeared.
In 2022, Altai Broiler produced 53 thousand tons of products - about a third more than in 2021. Today, the company's market share in Siberia is approaching 20%. In 2025, production volume is planned to increase to 115 thousand tons through the construction of two more feedlots.
The Altai Broiler plant operates in three shifts and employs 900 people. The average staff salary is 50 thousand rubles. In the summer, some employees leave to work on a rotational basis, and technological chains have to be rebuilt.
Approximately 30% of products are whole broiler carcasses. In summer, the production of grilling items increases: chicken sausages, kebabs and marinades. Highly cleaned chicken feet and wings are supplied to CHINA all year round . Residents of Siberia prefer breast and thigh fillets. All waste from cutting goes into the production of meat and bone and feather meal.
Next to the feedlots in the Zonal District there is a feed mill that produces 20 tons of product per hour. it is currently being reconstructed; after completion of the work, productivity will double.
To provide the Altai Broiler population with feed, 200 tons of wheat per year are required. Due to the volatility of prices on the feed components market, a decision was made to develop crop production. This year, the first sowing campaign was carried out in the Smolensk region, where about 50% of the area is allocated to spring wheat, 1,700 hectares to sunflower and 300 hectares to soybeans. The start of a new direction ensured the creation of 40 jobs for residents of nearby villages.
In the future, Altai Broiler plans to sow fodder in the Zonal, Biysk and Smolensk regions. If the area of cultivated land expands to 20 thousand hectares, the company will cover 40% of its needs for raw materials for feed.
