"Agrocomplex named after N.I. Tkachev" suspended the sale of meat and semi-finished products due to ASF

"Agrocomplex named after N.I. Tkachev" together with the veterinary department of the Krasnodar Territory have developed a program to ensure the safety of pork and its processed products in connection with the ASF outbreak on the territory of the agricultural complex. The message states that pork and beef , natural and chopped semi-finished products that have not undergone heat treatment have been banned for sale. In addition, potentially contaminated batches of goods were tracked to retailers and recalled from sale.

The company noted that  the ASF virus is not dangerous for people. In addition, products that have been heat-treated for at least half an hour at a temperature of 70 degrees or higher are not dangerous. However, there is a risk of contamination of healthy wild and domestic pig populations through food waste, so sales of potentially unsafe MEAT from the plant have been temporarily suspended.

The company has already carried out disinfection and conducted additional tests on all existing products. No new traces of ASF were identified, meat sales will be restored after September 25, the report says.
