As reported by the regional Ministry of Agriculture with reference to information from the federal customs service, at the end of 2023, the plan for the national project “International Cooperation and Export” in Primorye was exceeded by 1.4%. The total EXPORT volume amounted to over $1.9 billion.
According to the department, about 77% of the volume of exported products of the Primorye agro-industrial complex are fish and seafood - sold to the tune of $1.5 billion. it is also worth noting that maritime soybean exports last year reached a value of $289 million, and grain exports, including corn, were worth $83 million .
Primorye products are mainly exported to countries in the Asia-Pacific region, such as CHINA , the Republic of Korea and Vietnam . More than $10 million worth of MEAT and dairy products were exported to these countries, three times the 2022 level. Exports of fat and oil products from the Primorsky Territory also increased significantly to $61.2 million.
The region's Minister of Agriculture, Andrei Bronts, emphasized that Primorye occupies one of the leading places among regions in the export of agricultural products.
“We will support export-oriented agricultural producers. This year, a new support measure is provided for Primorye beekeepers to reimburse part of the costs associated with the export of honey. 3 million rubles have been allocated for these purposes in the regional budget,” said Andrei Bronts.
The governor of Primorye, Oleg Kozhemyako , emphasized the need to achieve a record foreign trade turnover of $14 billion by the end of 2023. He also said that after the lifting of quarantine measures, contacts between Primorye and the Chinese provinces were restored almost completely.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that RUSSIA remains one of the leading food exporters. He noted that investment, trade and consumption activity is increasingly shifting to Asian, African and Latin American regions, where the bulk of the world's population lives.
