Agrarians of the Ivanovo region increased the volume of agricultural production by almost 5%

The production of agricultural products in farms of all categories of the Ivanovo region in the first quarter of 2021, according to preliminary data, amounted to 2.4 billion rubles, which is 4.7% more than the result for the same period last year, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported.

As Denis Cherkesov, DIRECTOR of the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Ivanovo Region, noted, the increase was achieved primarily due to the increase in production volumes in the livestock sector. Thus, over the three months of this year, the volume of production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight in farms of all categories increased by 15.2% compared to the same period in 2020 and amounted to 9.6 thousand tons. A significant increase in this indicator was achieved due to an increase in more than six times the volume of pig production.

Positive dynamics is also observed in the production of eggs. The indicator for the first quarter of this year amounted to 107.3 million units, which is 10.5% more than a year earlier.

In addition, continue to increase production volumes and small forms of management. According to the results of the first quarter of this year, the share of farmers in the gross regional agricultural production amounted to more than 7%, and the production index reached 110.3%.
