The Office of the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR for the Chuvash Republic and the Ulyanovsk region reports that foci of African swine fever in private farms have been identified in the Volzhsky district of the Samara region. Quarantine has been introduced.
Thus, 22 settlements fell into the threatened zone. it is clarified that initially the ASF virus was detected in 16 corpses of domestic pigs found in private farms in the village of Voskresenka, Volzhsky district.
In connection with the threat of the introduction of the African swine fever virus into the territory of the Ulyanovsk region, the Department reminds the owners of private farms that the veterinary rules prohibit:
- home slaughter and sale of pork without pre-slaughter inspection and veterinary and sanitary examination of MEAT and slaughter products by specialists of the state veterinary service;
- purchase of pigs without veterinary certificates or certificates confirming the well-being of the place of EXPORT and the availability of vaccination against classical plague;
- importation of pigs and pig products from other regions without the consent of the state veterinary service;
- disposal of animal corpses, waste from their maintenance and processing in landfills in places not authorized by the local administration.
