ASF detected in the Ulyanovsk region

In the Sursky district of the Ulyanovsk region, a focus of African swine fever was discovered. Wild boars became the source of infection. The threatened zone includes 14 settlements: the villages of Lava, Elita, Bely Klyuch, the village of Surskoye, the village of Chernenovo, the village of Central Estate of the Sursky state farm, the villages of Polyanki, Utesovka, Lebedevka, Studenets, Kirzyat, Boltaevka, Vypolzovao and Kivat.

A state of high alert has been introduced in the municipality. A special commission has been created, a system for alerting the population has been organized, forces and means have been formed to eliminate the disease. A round-the-clock checkpoint, a disinfection frame, a steam-formalin chamber have been installed, the corpses of pigs in the epizootic focus have been destroyed, and disinfection has been carried out,” Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Semenkin said.

- it is forbidden to breed pigs in the epizootic focus and in the threatened zone during the year. It is possible to breed pigs in the observation zone, but it is impossible to EXPORT them and pig products of non-industrial production, that is, without heat treatment. It is imperative that by June 12 the withdrawal of pigs in the threatened zone and make calculations for the payment of compensation from the reserve fund of the Government of the Ulyanovsk region to owners for the withdrawn pigs and pig products and the purchase of additional diagnostic kits. It is also important to put things in order with the source of infection - wild boars, - added Semenkin.
