The diet helped the prisoner escape from prison

An unprecedented case occurred in Australia: a maximum security prison inmate managed to escape from a super-guarded correctional facility thanks to a normal diet. The intelligent criminal dropped 15 kg of weight, which allowed him to “crawl out” to freedom through a narrow hole in a brick wall.

Robert Cole, 36, was serving time in Sydney's largest prison, Long Bay, for robbery and armed assault. Most likely, he hatched a daring escape plan for a long time. For quite a long time, Cole was on a strict diet, which brought himself to exhaustion. As a result, with a diagnosis of dystrophy, the prisoner was placed in a prison hospital.

This is exactly what Cole wanted, so he immediately took advantage of the chance that fell to him. Under the cover of night, he cut a small hole between the wall and the window, and thanks to his thinness, he easily slipped through the gap. Then he climbed a barbed-wire fence and jumped to freedom.

No one interfered with the fugitive, since the guards at the wall were not on duty at night. The prison authorities relied on security cameras and sensor motion detectors, which, as IT turned out, failed.

As a result of the incident, the Long Bay security chief was removed from his duties, and now he will have to answer for his negligent attitude to work. The police, in turn, are desperately looking for the escaped criminal, as, according to the authorities, he poses a serious threat to society.
