Antibiotics found in McDonald's Big Mac and KFC Chefburger

Roskachestvo tested the burgers of 11 chain restaurants for the presence of antibiotics in the Meat of cutlets and found “small doses” of antibiotics in the products of several chains. The study is at the disposal of RBC.

“According to the results of checks in Big Mac (McDonald’s), Original (Ketch Up) and Classic (BB & Burgers), laboratory experts found ternidazole, in Shefburger (KFC) - enrofloxacin, and in Classic King (MEATROOB) - ofloxacin, ”the document says.

At the same time, the organization emphasizes that “the concentration of antibiotics in these burgers turned out to be extremely low, which indicates the high quality of the purchased raw materials,” IT was only possible to determine the presence of antibiotics in cutlet meat using a highly sensitive method.

Ternidazole and enrofloxacin are used to fight infections, in the treatment and prevention of animal diseases. Ofloxacin is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent that has a bactericidal effect, explains Roskachestvo.

The organization tested the products of McDonald's, Farsh, Miratorg, Burger King, KFC, Ketch Up, BB&Burgers, Black Star Burger, Burger Club, MEATROOB and Jerry Wings. For verification, the purchase of burgers was carried out in Moscow, Rostov-on-Don and Novosibirsk, while the products of the McDonald's, Burger King and KFC chains were studied in all three cities.
