May 12, Mogilev. A resident of the Mogilev region was sentenced to 3 months of arrest for desecration of state symbols. This was reported in the information service of the prosecutor's office of the Mogilev region.
The prosecutor's office of the Mogilev region supported in COURT the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 38-year-old local resident who was charged with desecration of state symbols. During the judicial investigation, it was established that on the night of March 6-7, 2022, a drunken man removed a flagpole with the state flag from the holder attached to the building of the rural house of culture in the village of Nikitinichi, after which he began to wave it from side to side. Further, expressing an insulting attitude towards the flag, he wrapped its canvas around the flagpole and took it to the garage.At the hearing, the man repented of his deed. He explained that he committed the crime under the influence of ALCOHOL.
Taking into account the evidence presented by the public prosecutor, the Mogilev District Court delivered a guilty verdict. On the basis of Article 370 of the Criminal Code, the man was sentenced to arrest for a period of 3 months. The verdict came into force.
