A resident of Stolin was taken into custody for a drunken accident with serious consequences

April 10, Brest. The prosecutor of the Stolin district authorized the detention of a 29-year-old resident of the district center for a drunken traffic accident with serious consequences, BelTA learned from the information service of the prosecutor's office of the Brest region.

The accident occurred on April 2 at about 11.40 on the 2nd km of the road H580 Stolin - Struga - Olmany. According to the case file, the drunk accused in a Volkswagen Passat official car drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Volkswagen Golf car driven by a 66-year-old resident of the agricultural town of Struga. The pensioner was blocked by body structures. He needed the help of rescuers. The victim was taken to the central district hospital with serious injuries.

A criminal case was initiated under part 4 of article 317 (violation of traffic rules in a stateALCOHOL intoxication , which caused serious bodily harm) of the Criminal Code. Procedural actions are being carried out, including those aimed at establishing the reasons why the person involved was driving a company car on a day off without instructions from the company's management. The preventive measure is authorized taking into account the circumstances and severity of the incident, as well as the personality of the accused.
