A Grodno resident beat a man to death: the court rendered a verdict

February 5, Grodno. The Leninsky District Court of Grodno considered a criminal case against a man accused of intentionally unlawful deprivation of human life (murder). BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Grodno Regional Court.

As the department said, in October 2023, at night near one of the bars in Grodno, a conflict arose between the accused and a man born in 1999. The person involved, being ablealcohol intoxication , deliberately struck the victim at least 16 times in the locations of vital organs. As a result, the young man died.

At the court hearing, the accused partially pleaded guilty to the charges.

The accused was found guilty by a court verdict. He was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 9 years, to be served in a correctional colony under enhanced security conditions. It was also decided to recover Br20 thousand from the defendant in favor of the wife of the deceased in compensation for moral damage.

The court verdict has not entered into legal force and can be appealed and protested.
