7 people injured in road accident in Minsk region over weekend

August 1, Minsk. Over the weekend in the Minsk region, 7 people were injured in an accident. BelTA was informed about this by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

Over the past weekend, 87 accidents were registered in the Minsk region, including six accidents in which seven people were injured. One of them is a minor. 35 drunk drivers were identified and 81 facts of driving vehicles by lawless people were stopped. 143 pedestrians were brought to administrative responsibility. Almost every third of them was in a state of alcoholic intoxication . 25 pedestrians were not marked with retroreflective elements.

In addition, during the preventive campaign "Speed", which took place from July 29 to 31, in the territory of the Minsk region, employees of the State traffic inspectorate revealed 586 facts of violation of speed limits by drivers. For two days, 81 accidents were registered in the central region without victims, where cars received mechanical damage.

On Saturday at about 2 pm in the village of Parubki, Myadel district, a 23-year-old resident of the Myadel district, driving a Renault Megan, hit a 16-year-old resident of the Myadel district. The teenager suddenly ran out from behind a car parked at the side of the road. As a result of the collision, the girl was hospitalized with injuries.

On Sunday, at about 7.00 on the 34th km of the P69 highway Smolevichi - Smilovichi - Pravdinsk - Shatsk near the urban village of Smilovichi, Cherven district, a 43-year-old resident of the Mogilev region driving a Volkswagen Jetta was distracted from control and crashed into a metal barrier fence. As a result of the accident, the driver was hospitalized with injuries. The man was reportedly not wearing a seat belt.

On the same day at 9.25 on the 4th km of the highway H8642 Krupki - Proshika, not far from the agricultural town of Khudovtsy, Krupsky district, a 31-year-old resident of the Smolevichi district on a Kawasaki GPX motorcycle chose the wrong speed, lost control, drove into a ditch and overturned. As a result of the accident, the driver was hospitalized with injuries. The State Traffic Inspectorate noted that the man was wearing a motorcycle helmet.
