On December 12, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission decided to postpone for six months the entry into force of the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union for alcoholic products. EEC official representative Iya Malkina announced this at a briefing following the meeting, BelTA reports.
“At the proposal of the Russian side, the EEC Council decided to postpone the entry into force of the technical regulations of the union “On the safety of alcoholic products” from January 1, 2024 to July 1, 2024, in order to make changes and clarifications to the specified technical regulations,” Iya said Malkina.According to her, during this period, in particular, it is expected to resolve issues related to the requirements for brewing and wine products.
“The adopted decision of the EEC Council will allow participants in the alcohol market to avoid misleading consumers, as well as eliminate the risks of possible harm to the health and life of citizens,” added the official representative of the EEC.
In total, the EEC Council considered about 30 issues. The EEC Council includes deputy chairmen of the governments of the five EAEU countries . Belarus is represented in it by Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko.
