
November 8, Brest. Two drunk drivers of heavy vehicles were detained on the same day on the territory of the Brest region, BelTA learned from the traffic police of the regional executive committee.
At about 1 a.m. at the Mokrany border crossing, officials of the Maloritsky District Department of Internal Affairs OGAI stopped a DAF with a semi-trailer that was moving towards Brest. The truck was driven by a 38-year-old Brest resident with obvious signs of intoxication . The results of the medical examination showed 2.2 ppm of ALCOHOL. An administrative protocol for drunk driving was drawn up against the driver, the car was placed on a penalty area.
The second incident occurred in the morning in Ivatsevichi. The attention of police officers was attracted by a DAF truck with a semi-trailer, which drove under a prohibition sign along Chertkov Street. The truck driver ignored the signal to stop. When the car was nevertheless stopped, a drunk 54-year-old resident of Bereza was driving. A medical examination determined that he had 2 ppm of alcohol. Two administrative protocols were drawn up against the driver.
Since the beginning of the year, 28 accidents due to drunk drivers have been registered in the region, in which 10 people died and 25 were injured of varying severity.
