
August 17, Mogilev. A Bykhov resident drowned while swimming in the Dnieper River. A 41-year-old man fell into a whirlpool and could not get out of it, BelTA was told in the Mogilev regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations .
The incident occurred on the afternoon of August 17 in Bykhov on Vilnya Street in a place not equipped for swimming. A local resident born in 1982 was vacationing on the banks of the Dnieper with a relative. The man wanted to swim, swam from the shore and fell into a whirlpool. A relative rushed to help and even pulled him ashore, but it was too late.The Ministry of Emergency Situations warns that swimming is only possible in specially designated areas on equipped beaches.
