Vitebsk resident sold counterfeit alcohol for cryptocurrency

December 21, Vitebsk. Vitebsk bootlegger was selling falsified vodka for cryptocurrency. A resident of the regional center decided to make money before the New Year, when the demand for ALCOHOL traditionally increases . The 30-year-old Vitebsk resident was identified by officers of the Department of Economic Crime of the Pervomaisky District Department of Internal Affairs, Vitaly Sapronenko, official representative of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, told a BelTA correspondent.

A man posted on the Internet an advertisement for the sale of vodka of a well-known brand. He was going to sell an alcoholic drink for cryptocurrency. The attention of law enforcement officers was attracted by the fact that the vodka itself was sold in containers that had never been used by the manufacturer at all.

"The volumes, as well as the packaging of alcohol, were also exotic. Suspicions about the quality of vodka were confirmed. As a result, the operatives established the fact of counterfeit sales. The police seized six packages of falsified vodka in an assortment of 18 liters, the total cost of the batch amounted to almost Br1 thousand," he said. Vitaly Sapronenko.
