July 25, MINSK . The perpetrator of a fatal hit on a girl on Pushkin Avenue in Minsk was sentenced to 8 years in prison, BelTA learned from the prosecutor's office of the Frunzensky district.

The COURT of the Frunzensky district of Minsk found the defendant guilty of violating traffic rules by a person driving a vehicle in a state ofALCOHOL intoxication , which negligently caused the death of a person, as well as a knowingly false denunciation of a crime. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison with deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the management of all types of vehicles for 8 years.

As noted by the state prosecutor - senior assistant to the prosecutor of the Frunzensky district of Minsk Oksana Dudko, a drunk without rights (the concentration of ethyl alcohol in the blood was more than 1 ppm) was driving a Subaru car on March 18. Driving along Pushkin Avenue at a speed of 98 km / h (with a permitted speed of 60 km / h), at a pedestrian crossing, he knocked down a girl who was crossing the road at a traffic light, and then drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a SKODA car . The girl died on the spot.

After the accident, the accused, in order to avoid responsibility, knowingly informed law enforcement agencies of false information: allegedly someone had inflicted bodily harm on him and forcibly took possession of the car - and demanded that the specified person be held accountable. At the stage of pre-trial proceedings and in court, the accused fully admitted his guilt and repented.
