a drunk moped driver, transporting a child with traffic violations, tried to hide from the traffic police, but was detained. BELTA was informed about this by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
The incident occurred on March 30 at 18.50 in the village of Luzhesno, Vitebsk region. The attention of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate was drawn to the driver of a moped who was moving without a helmet, and his passenger was a child.
The employees signaled to stop, but the moped driver did not react and continued driving, but was soon detained. As
it turned out, the 36-year-old local resident was drunk - an examination showed the presence of 1.27 ppm of
alcohol in his blood.
A number of administrative protocols were drawn up against the offender, and the vehicle was placed in a guarded parking lot.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded that driving a vehicle while intoxicated is punishable by a fine of up to 200 basic units and deprivation of the right to drive for up to 5 years. A repeated similar violation entails criminal liability with confiscation of the vehicle, regardless of its ownership.
