Vitebsk . This year, 62 specially equipped beaches will be operational during the swimming season in the Vitebsk Region, the Vitebsk Regional Emergency Situations Ministry told a BelTA correspondent.
"Citizens should remember that during the warm season, swimming is permitted only at specially equipped beaches staffed by OSVOD personnel. This year, 62 such recreation areas have been designated by local authorities," the ministry emphasized. The
regional Emergency Situations Ministry explained that
it has one diving and rescue service based at the Vityaz fire and rescue unit and 47 water rescue teams within regional emergency departments. The department also has 46 watercraft, including motorboats, motorboats, and rowboats. "The diving and rescue service and water rescue teams of the regional departments are ready to carry out rescue missions in waters," the ministry emphasized.
Rescuers also reminded visitors of the rules for visiting beaches. Swimming in undesignated areas and after dark is prohibited. Consuming alcoholic beverages, low-alcohol beverages,
beer , narcotics, psychotropic substances, their analogues, toxic or other intoxicating substances is prohibited. Citizens are prohibited from swimming beyond the boundaries of the beach, approaching vessels or floating objects, or climbing on technical and warning signs, buoys, or other objects. Water play involving diving or grabbing swimmers, as well as any actions that could cause an accident, are prohibited. Furthermore, false alarms are prohibited.
"While relaxing, citizens may forget about water safety precautions, which can lead to tragic consequences. Violating public safety rules entails administrative penalties. For example, swimming in prohibited areas carries a fine of 1 to 3 basic units (1 BV = 42 Br), while drinking alcoholic or low-alcohol beverages or beer, or appearing in a public place while intoxicated, carries a fine of up to 8 BV. Violating environmental safety and nature management regulations, as well as fire safety, carries penalties. Lighting fires in prohibited areas carries a fine of up to 12 BV, while polluting forests and other trees and shrubs carries a fine of up to 50 BV," the department warned.
