A drunk taxi driver was detained in Vitebsk.

October 12, MINSK . A drunk taxi driver with a blood ALCOHOL level of over two ppm was detained in Vitebsk, the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service told BelTA.
In the morning, a Vitebsk traffic police crew noticed a Volkswagen that was clearly speeding along the central avenue. Officers signaled the driver to stop, which he ignored, and a pursuit ensued. The driver ignored repeated requests to stop, ran red lights several times, and maneuvered, thereby posing a real threat to other road users, the press service reported.
The car was soon blocked. "A 44-year-old woman from Vitebsk, showing clear signs of intoxication, was driving .""Drug intoxication . A medical examination confirmed the inspectors' suspicions—her blood alcohol level was over two per mille. Eight administrative charges were filed against the woman. For drunk driving, she was fined 200 basic units (Br8,400) and was disqualified from driving for five years. The driver was placed in a temporary detention facility, and her car was taken to a guarded parking lot," the press service reported.
Law enforcement officials recommend that if you become aware that a vehicle is being driven by a drunk driver, or if you see a drunk pedestrian or other road user on the roadway, immediately report it by calling 102.
