30 April, Gomel. The Svetlogorsk District
Prosecutor's Office supported the state prosecution in
COURT in a criminal case against a 25-year-old local resident who is accused of threatening to kill, BelTA learned from the information service of the Gomel Region Prosecutor's Office.
The prosecutor studied the materials of the pre-investigation check of the Department of Internal Affairs and opened a criminal case of private-public prosecution.
The domestic incident occurred last autumn. Shortly before going to bed, the spouses drank
ALCOHOL . A little later, the woman's five-year-old son from her first marriage came into their bedroom and asked his mother to lie down with him. The stepfather did not allow
it, and a quarrel broke out between the spouses. At the height of the conflict, the man took a knife and held it to the boy's neck. He threatened to kill the child, instilling fear for her son's life and uncertainty about her own safety.
As the prosecutor established, the woman was on maternity leave and depended on her husband, since she did not have her own home. The main means of living are child support and alimony from her ex-husband. "The woman perceived the death threats as real, since the accused was in a state of
alcohol intoxication and behaved aggressively. She did not file a complaint to bring her husband to criminal responsibility because she was afraid of reprisals from him and his relatives. Since the illegal actions were expressed in an encroachment on the life and
HEALTH of a minor who is not capable of independently defending his rights and interests, and the mother was completely dependent on the aggressor, the Svetlogorsk District Prosecutor opened a criminal case without a statement from the victim," the prosecutor's office clarified.
The preliminary investigation was conducted by employees of the Svetlogorsk ROSK.
As stated in the expert's report, the boy suffered abrasions in the neck and wrist area, there were bruises on the forearm, which are classified as bodily injuries that did not entail a short-term health disorder.
At the court hearing, the accused did not admit guilt. The Svetlogorsk District
Court issued a guilty verdict. Based on Article 186 of the Criminal Code, the man was sentenced to two months of arrest.
The verdict has entered into legal force.
