Photo by the Investigative Committee 27 August, Minsk . Two people were injured in a traffic accident in Stolbtsy District and taken to hospital, BELTA learned from the Investigative Committee.

Yesterday, 26 August, at about 23:10 on the 278th km of the M1/E30 Brest-Minsk-Russian border highway near the village of Zayamnoye, a 27-year-old resident of Baranovichi in a BMW collided with a passing Nissan. The second foreign car caught fire from the impact.

As a result of the accident, the passenger of the Nissan, an 18-year-old Minsk woman, received serious bodily injuries, and the 22-year-old driver of the Nissan received burns to various parts of his body. The injured were taken to hospital.
The driver of the BMW was detained. The concentration of ethyl alcohol in his exhaled air was 1.18 ppm.

The Stolbtsy District Department of the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 317 (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a vehicle in a state ofalcohol intoxication , resulting through negligence inflicting grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Belarus.
