In Orsha, a drunk motorist collided with a motorcycle and fled the scene of the accident

April 9, Minsk . In Orsha, traffic police officers promptly detained a driver who fled the scene of an accident in which a motorcyclist was injured through his fault, BelTA was told by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

The accident occurred on the evening of April 8 near house No. 45 on Dalniy Lane. The driver of a Volkswagen car, while making a U-turn, collided with a Java motorcycle moving in the opposite direction, after which he fled the scene. As a result of the accident, the motorcycle driver was hospitalized.

The motorist was detained by traffic police officers a short time later. A medical examination revealed 1.36 ppm of alcohol in the exhaled air of the detained person.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

The State Traffic Inspectorate calls on all road users to be as focused and attentive as possible. Under no circumstances should you leave the scene of an accident, since the escape of those involved in the road incident will only become an aggravating circumstance.
