Recidivist thief caught red-handed in Molodechno

August 2, Minsk. Operatives of the criminal investigation department of the Molodechno District Department of Internal Affairs and employees of the police department of the Minsk Region Department of Internal Affairs detained a 42-year-old local resident on suspicion of serial thefts from private homes. This was reported to BelTA by the regional police.

At present, the involvement of the man in at least six thefts that have been committed in Molodechno and in nearby villages has been established. Thefts were committed in June-July of this year. Criminal cases have been initiated on all the facts, and the stolen property has been partially confiscated. The total amount of damage is almost Br8.5 thousand.

"In the latter case, the man was caught red-handed. Having squeezed a double-glazed window and entered the house of a 73-year-old pensioner, the man stole a gold ring, five bottles of elite alcohol and $ 250. At the exit from the yard, the suspect was detained and a bag with stolen property was confiscated from him," they said. in the ATC.

In other cases, the defendant acted similarly. “He went to work with gloves and, as a rule, in the daytime. He worked in private households, where he made his way mainly by pressing a plastic window, and went out through the door. There he was interested in money, jewelry, power tools - everything that had at least any value, but also did not disdain to take food. He sold the stolen money, and spent the proceeds for personal needs. Officially, the man did not work anywhere, "the law enforcement officers added.

A citizen committed a major theft in the afternoon of July 12 in the village of Tividovka, Molodechno district. While the 48-year-old hostess was away, the suspect got into her house through an unlocked veranda window and took out gold items worth almost Br4 thousand, as well as an old ten-ruble coin worth Br2.5 thousand. He sold the stolen gold to a friend who later had it withdrawn.

The person involved was taken into custody, his involvement in other similar crimes is being checked. As noted, this is not the first theft of property from homes.
