
September 13, MINSK. In the Molodechno district, a pedestrian died under the wheels of a car. BelTA was informed about this by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.
"On September 12, at about 21.00 in the village of Markovo, Molodechno district, on Oktyabrskaya street, near house No. 41, a 52-year-old pedestrian was hit. From his injuries, the man died at the scene of the accident. it was established that he was in the lane of the car and was not marked with reflective elements The driver fled the scene of the accident," the traffic police said.After the traffic accident, the employees of the traffic police department of the Molodechno District Department of Internal Affairs, in search of the culprit of the accident, drove to the highway near Markovo, where they stopped vehicles. Around 23.00 during the stop of the next car, traffic inspectors noticed a passenger with signs of ALCOHOL intoxication . The driver was sober. Having established the identity of the passenger, it turned out that a Ford car was registered to him, and the man himself was involved in driving without a license, although he denied this fact. The employees had suspicions about him and they, together with the detainee, went to his house. Having examined the yard of a private house and the surrounding area, traffic police inspectors found a Ford car behind the fence with traces of the consequences of an accident.
It was preliminarily established that after the fatal collision, the driver of the Ford Mondeo arrived at his place of residence, hid his car near the house and asked his friend to take him away in the direction of Smorgon. The culprit of the accident was a 27-year-old resident of the Molodechno region.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (violation of the rules of the road or the operation of vehicles, resulting in the death of a person by negligence). This crime is punishable by correctional labor for up to two years, or restriction of liberty for up to five years, or imprisonment for the same period with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities, or without deprivation.
