In Mogilev, a drunk driver drove into the oncoming lane and caused a serious accident

September 4, Mogilev. In MogilevA drunk driver drove into the oncoming lane and caused a serious accident, BelTA learned from the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee.

The accident occurred on September 3 at about 10 p.m. at the intersection of Simonova and Ostrovsky streets. A 42-year-old Mogilev resident in a Mercedes drove into the oncoming lane while turning right and collided with a parked Volkswagen minibus, which crashed into a passenger car behind it.

The culprit of the accident and the minibus passenger received medical assistance; they did not receive serious injuries. The Mercedes driver showed signs ofalcohol intoxication .

The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate reminds about administrative liability for driving a vehicle while intoxicated. Such an offense provides for up to 5 years of deprivation of the right to drive and a fine of up to 200 basic units.
