January 4, MINSK. In Minsk, a drunk driver made an accident and fled the scene, BelTA learned from the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee.
The day before, a Minsk resident turned to traffic police inspectors of the traffic police department of the Oktyabrsky District Department of Internal Affairs of the capital and said that a Hyundai had driven into his car, the driver of which had fled the scene. The incident occurred at the intersection of Aerodromnaya and Chkalov streets.
A few minutes later, the traffic police detained the culprit of the accident in a neighboring yard. The 55-year-old driver was sleeping in the passenger car. The militiamen woke up the violator and took him for examination. The result of the examination is 3.1 ppm of ALCOHOL in the body of a man.
Protocols on an administrative offense were drawn up against the Hyundai driver, and the man himself was taken to a medical sobering-up station.
The State Traffic Inspectorate calls on all road users to be prudent. "If you see a drunk driver getting behind the wheel, immediately report it by calling 102," law enforcement officers appealed to citizens.
