
December 9, MINSK. In Latvia, consumer goods prices increased by 6.5% over the year compared to November 2020, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau, according to the Delfi portal.
The biggest price increases were for products and services related to housing and transportation, as well as for food and alcoholic beverages, goods and services related to recreation and culture, tobacco products and health-related products.
Speaking of food, in general, they have risen in price by 5.6%. Fresh vegetables rose in price most noticeably - by 11.1% and potatoes - by 50.2%. Cheese and cottage cheese became more expensive by 8.2%, and dairy products - by 10.9%. Prices for FLOUR and cereals rose by 18.8%, bread rose by 2.9%, rice - by 20.3%, and pasta - by 8.7%.
ALCOHOL and tobacco products rose in price by an average of 2.5%.
Speaking of housing, the price of electricity increased most noticeably, as did heat energy and natural gas. Repair services, rental housing, solid fuels and garbage collection have also become more expensive.
In the healthcare sector, prices rose by an average of 3%. The cost of services of a dentist and medical specialists has risen.
Prices for goods and services related to transport increased by 18.7%. The price of fuel increased mainly - by 39.1%: diesel - by 41.2%, gasoline - by 35.5%, and natural gas - by 44.6%.
