On April 21 at 20:26, the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a message that a 70-year-old pensioner in the village of Novoye Radcha needed help; his leg was stuck in a motor cultivator. it turned out that while cultivating a garden plot, the man inadvertently caught his clothes with a cutter, as a result of which his leg was trapped in the mechanism.
Rescuers used a special tool to dismantle the half-shaft of the motor cultivator in order to free the victim. The man was injured and hospitalized. According to rescuers, this incident demonstrates the importance of observing safety rules when working with garden equipment. "We should not forget that a motor cultivator is a powerful machine that can cause serious injuries," they emphasized.
To work safely with a motor cultivator, you need to follow several rules. First, you need to have the appropriate equipment - strong and tight-fitting clothing without hanging parts, protectivegloves and closed-toe shoes. Secondly, there should be no foreign objects, stones or branches on the site that could damage the motor cultivator or cause injury. The ground surface should be level and hard enough.
"Before starting work, carefully inspect the motor cultivator for damage, check the reliability of the fastening of all parts, make sure that the cutter and other working parts are in good working order," recommend rescuers. "When working with a motor cultivator, always be attentive and focused, do not be distracted by extraneous matters. Never work with a motor cultivator while intoxicated."
