December 17, Gomel. In the Gomel region in January-November there were 47 accidents involving drunk drivers. The UGAI emphasized that often accidents that occur due to the fault of drunk and disenfranchised drivers have serious consequences. And the worst thing is when absolutely innocent people suffer.

"For 11 months of this year, 47 accidents occurred in the region with the participation of drunk drivers, in which 35 people were injured of varying severity and 9 died. agitation and propaganda. According to the traffic police, since the beginning of the year, more than 2.5 thousand drivers have been brought to administrative responsibility for driving while intoxicated and over 8 thousand lawless people.

“In order to timely identify and suppress the facts when drunk and unlicensed drivers drive transport, as well as to stabilize the traffic situation in the region, traffic police officers will carry out a preventive measure “There is no place for a drunken and disenfranchised driver,” the department for campaigning and propaganda.

Law enforcement officers will work out dangerous areas and will carry out enhanced preventive measures after the weekend, when, according to statistics, it is not uncommon to meet malicious traffic offenders on the roads.

The state traffic inspectors reminded: if earlier a driver was threatened with a fine of 50 to 100 basic units (1 BV - Br29) with deprivation of rights for three years for driving while intoxicated, now the measure of responsibility depends on the physical condition of the driver. If there is up to 0.8 ppm of ALCOHOL in the exhaled air, then a fine of 100 basic units and deprivation of rights for three years threatens. If more than 0.8 ppm or the driver refuses a medical examination, the fine will be 200 basic units, plus the motorist will lose his license for 5 years. In case of repeated violation within a year, the driver will be held criminally liable with confiscation of the vehicle.

"Always be smart about the safety of your own and other people who may suffer because of your negligence and ignoring the elementary requirements of traffic rules," the guards of the roads turned to the drivers.

Traffic police officers also ask eyewitnesses to inform the police in a timely manner about the facts when a drunk or lawless person is driving. "This will help to avoid an accident and save human lives. Do not be indifferent," the UGAI concluded.
