September 18, MINSK . In the Gomel Region, an intoxicated father fired an air pistol at his daughter's legs, and a private criminal case has been opened. This was reported to BELTA by the information service of the Gomel Region Prosecutor's Office.

The Oktyabrsky District Prosecutor has opened a private criminal case against a 42-year-old local resident, charging him with intentional infliction of minor bodily injury.

According to the case file, the intoxicated man fired at least four shots from an air pistol into his 13-year-old daughter's thighs in his apartment.

A forensic examination found that the girl had wounds on her thighs classified as minor bodily injuries.

The information service noted that the suspect has a negative characterization and has previously been repeatedly held criminally and administratively liable for offenses committed while intoxicated. The victim declined to file a criminal complaint against her father, as

he is her sole legal representative and she is dependent on him. The girl's mother has been deprived of parental rights. Given

that the illegal actions constituted an infringement on the life and HEALTH of a minor, who is incapable of fully protecting her rights and legitimate interests, the prosecutor deemed it justified to initiate a private criminal case without a complaint from the victim.

To organize a preliminary investigation, the prosecutor referred the criminal case to the Oktyabrsky District Department of the Investigative Committee.

Currently, based on a ruling by the Juvenile Affairs Commission of the Oktyabrsky District Executive Committee, the minor has been removed from her father and placed in a social pedagogical center.
