The heads of government of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union at a meeting of the Intergovernmental Council, which was held on February 24-25 in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan) in person, considered 15 issues, BelTA learned from the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
"The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council adopted an order to support the implementation of the joint project of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union for the implementation of accelerated rail and multimodal transportation "Eurasian Agroexpress". The project is aimed at increasing the volume of mutual supplies and exports of agricultural products and food, as well as its diversification," - said in press service.
The Intergovernmental Council also welcomed the initiative of Uzbekistan to expand participation in the work of the Eurasian Economic Union in areas of mutual interest, considered the tools of state support for industry in the EAEU, approved an action plan (roadmap) to expand industrial cooperation in the field of civil aircraft manufacturing in the EAEU states for 2022-2023.
The prime ministers of the EAEU countries were presented with the main conceptual approaches and the mechanism for levying VAT on electronic trade in goods to individuals in the territory of another EAEU state on the principle of the country of destination, as well as information on the implementation of the agreement on the traceability mechanism for goods imported into the territory of the EAEU. "The Commission, together with experts from the Member States, has developed and agreed on all the necessary regulatory framework for the implementation of a pilot project on the traceability of foreign goods in the EAEU countries from July 1, 2022 to March 31, 2022," the EEC informed.
Roman GolovchenkoThe heads of government of the EAEU countries considered and approved the report submitted by the EEC on the current state and prospects for the development of the Union's integrated information system. Among the main provisions of the report are proposals for improving the efficiency of planning and developing this system, which is an integral infrastructure for the implementation of the principle of four freedoms - the free movement of goods, services, capital and labor. The approaches approved in the report are capable of launching the transformation of the EAEU integrated information system.
"Given the interest of the member states in the early launch of the mechanism for tracking goods, provided for by the agreement on the use of navigation seals in the union to track transportation, the heads of government of the EAEU countries instructed the state authorities of the countries of the union to take possible measures to facilitate the speedy ratification of the agreement," continued the press release. - This will make it possible already this year to ensure the implementation of the measures necessary for the implementation of the agreement.The agreement provides for the tracking of goods transported as part of customs transit, and a number of goods in mutual trade (sanctioned goods ,, tobacco) is aimed at minimizing control measures at the internal borders of the Union, increasing the transit attractiveness of the Union States, ensuring the traceability of goods and their legal circulation on the territory of the EAEU.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, Chairman of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, Prime Minister of RUSSIA Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich, and also Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov as a representative of the observer state to the EAEU, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank Nikolai Podguzov.
"The next meeting of the Intergovernmental Council will be held on June 21-22 in Brest," the EEC added.
