A citizen of Mogilev suffered in an accident: a criminal case was opened against the driver

January 26, Mogilev. An accident occurred in Mogilev, in which a passenger was injured. A criminal case was opened against the driver, who was in a state of intoxication, BelTA learned from the information service of the prosecutor's office of the Mogilev region.

The prosecutor's office of the Mogilev region opened a criminal case of private prosecution against a 21-year-old driver, who was charged with a violation of traffic rules, which, through negligence, caused a less serious bodily injury.

According to the case file, in the evening on October 28, 2021, a drunken man, not having the right to drive a vehicle, was driving a Mitsubishi Galant car along Kulibina Street of the regional center. The suspect chose an unsafe speed and lost control: the man drove off the carriageway, where he hit a light pole.

As a result of the accident, the passenger of the car suffered bodily injuries.

Since driving while intoxicated grossly violates the rules of the road and poses an increased public danger, the prosecutor's office of the Mogilev region, based on the results of studying the materials of the pre-investigation check, initiated a criminal case against the driver under part 1 of article 317 of the Criminal Code.

The criminal case for the organization of a preliminary investigation was sent to the department of the Investigative Committee for the Mogilev region.
