The main causes of death are ignoring the rules of safe behavior and drunken citizens near water bodies.One of the tragic incidents occurred at a quarry in Polotsk on June 18. Two teenagers were drinkingALCOHOL , after which the 17-year-old boy decided to swim and drowned. The guy didn't know how to swim. His friend went away for a while, and when he returned, the guy had already drowned. Then he called rescuers, who removed the body from the water. The place where the teenager drowned is not intended for swimming.
Another tragic accident on the water occurred in the Rechitsa region. A schoolgirl drowned in the Berezina River. The night before, she and her family came to rest. The next morning, the girl's mother discovered she was missing and reported it to the police. During search operations, a teenager’s mobile phone was found on the river bank, and a girl’s blanket was found at the bottom of the river. Currently, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and OSVOD continue to search for her. The place where the schoolgirl and her family were relaxing is also not intended for swimming.
The water claimed the life of a 32-year-old resident of Gorki. On the morning of June 18, the man and his partner arrived at the dacha. After working on the site, the couple went for a swim in the river. The woman was sunbathing, and the man went into the water. After some time, the cohabitant saw that the man was nowhere to be found, and circles were visible on the surface of the water. Through the clear water, she saw a man lying at the bottom and tried to help him. This place is also not intended for swimming.
The Investigative Committee reminded about safety rules near bodies of water. You should not swim in prohibited areas, near steep banks, in wetlands, or swim behind buoys. In addition, you should never enter the water while intoxicated or leave children unattended. Diving in unfamiliar places can also be dangerous.
