He fell from a bridge but clung to a structure. OSVOD rescuers were dispatched to help the Vetka resident.

OSVOD photo, November 4, Gomel. A Vetka resident fell from a road bridge over the Sozh River, the Gomel regional branch of OSVOD told BelTA.

The Vetka OSVOD rescue station received a call at 2:50 p.m. on November 3 about a man falling from the road bridge over the Sozh. The on-duty crew was immediately dispatched to the scene.

"OSVOD rescuers found the man clinging to the structure and secured him from falling further into the water—he was unconscious. The victim was removed from the danger zone and handed over to medics," the regional branch reported. 

The medical facility determined that the Vetka resident, born in 1988, was in a state ofHe suffered serious injuries as a result of the fall and received all necessary qualified medical care.

OSVOD added: walking on the old sidewalks on this bridge (next to which a new one is currently being built) is strictly prohibited – this is indicated by both the installed barriers and warning signs.
