Three people drowned in the reservoirs of the Vitebsk region in a day

June 1, MINSK . Over the past 24 hours, three people drowned in reservoirs in the Vitebsk region, BelTA learned from the Vitebsk Regional Emergency Situations Ministry.

Tragedies occurred in Vitebsk, Braslav and Liozno regions.

On May 31, a pensioner born in 1959 drowned on the Disna River near the village of Germanovshchina. Before the arrival of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, his body was recovered from the water by eyewitnesses. As it turned out, he was relaxing with a friend on the shore and, after drinking alcoholic beverages, decided to swim. Later he was found in the water without signs of life.

Also on May 31 at 10:23 p.m., rescuers received a message that a woman had drowned in the Western Dvina River near 70 Let Oktyabrya Street in Vitebsk. The body of a Vitebsk woman born in 2003 was found by the Ministry of Emergency Situations 12 m from the shore at a depth of 2 m.

The third drowned person was found by rescuers in the Liozny district on June 1, the message about the tragedy was received by the Ministry of Emergency Situations at 5.20. On Lake Sitnyanskoye in the village of Sitno, the body of a man born in 1949 was removed from the water.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds about the safety rules for recreation near the water. You should swim only in specially equipped places and do not go into the water whenALCOHOL intoxication . Adults should also supervise children in the summer and prevent them from playing in the water without the supervision of elders.
