The trial of the mother’s torture of her one-and-a-half-year-old son began in Ivye

February 13, Ivye. A criminal case on torture and intentional infliction of less grievous bodily harm against a minor has begun in Ivye, BELTA reports.

In the dock is a resident of the Ivyevsky district, born in 1981. According to the case file, the woman tortured her one-and-a-half-year-old son from March to September 2023. So, she fixed the child’s shoes to the floor with screws and forced him to stand in them, subjected him to beatings, deprived him of sleep, and forced him to stay awake. Also, according to the case materials, being ableALCOHOL intoxication , deliberately subjected her son to beating, namely, she struck him at least 16 times with her hands on various parts of the HEAD and body, causing bodily injuries, which in total have signs of less serious bodily injuries.
During the COURT hearing, the woman explained that her youngest son did not want to learn to walk, and when she saw a video on TIKTOK with recommendations on how to teach a child to stand up straight so that he could start walking, she took the advice. The woman screwed her shoes to the floor against the wall and left them standing for an hour every day. She did not consult with specialists on this matter. When the child sat down, she shook him.

According to the woman, her son confused day with night. To put him to sleep at the right time, she wrapped his arms with a diaper, put a pillow on him to fix him, and pulled a hat over his eyes. She added that due to the fact that he refused to eat and pushed away the spoon with his hands, she also wrapped him in a diaper.

On September 13, the boy lost consciousness. According to the accused, she found him on the floor in an unnatural position, pale, and decided that he had choked on a toy. According to her, the child was not breathing, so she began to shake him, slapped him on the cheeks, performed artificial respiration, and slapped him on the back. The child began to breathe. Since the mother realized that the boy had a fever, she gave him medicine. The woman decided that the increase in temperature was caused by the fact that the child was teething, and added that she had previously observed a similar reaction to teeth in June.

After that, she went to her neighbors to ask them to put money on her phone to contact her husband. She did not ask to call an ambulance. Returning home, the woman found her son not breathing. She tried to bring him to his senses. Having discovered that phlegm had accumulated in the child’s throat, she attempted to clear the tract with the help of a medicine dispenser. Afterwards, according to the defendant, she again gave the medicine to her son and called her husband, and only after that she called an ambulance. The child was hospitalized. Experts diagnosed him with purulent inguinal and leptomeningitis and spinal cord edema. This was the cause of death.

The woman has been deprived of parental rights in relation to seven children. She was married, and then lived with her partner, from whom two children were born, including the deceased boy.

According to the accused, she was convicted about five times, all convictions have now been expunged. The woman did not admit guilt. The woman was charged under Part 2 of Article 154, Part 2 of Article 149 of the Criminal Code. The case is being considered by the Ivyevsky District Court .
