The capital's police will be on high alert during the New Year holidays.

December 26, Minsk . Minsk police will be on high alert during events marking the New Year 2025, the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee told BelTA.

On New Year's Eve, festive events will take place in all districts of Minsk. The venues of mass events will be monitored using the national public safety monitoring system. Checkpoints with personal searches of citizens and their belongings will be set up at festive locations, including near the Sports Palace. Separate checkpoints—tents with orange domes—will be set up for veterans of the Great Patriotic War, people with disabilities, pregnant women, and people with young children. Traffic will be restricted near the event venues, and ground and underground transportation routes will be adjusted.

Law enforcement officials remind that persons in a statePeople under the influence of alcohol will not be allowed into the events. Citizens with prohibited items, bicycles, electric scooters, and pets will also not be allowed in.
