by the Ministry of Emergency Situations June 9, Mogilev. Rescuers found a drowned man in the Ptich River in Glusk. The search for him had been ongoing since the evening of June 7, BelTA learned from the Mogilev Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Eyewitnesses reported the incident to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. A group of young people relaxing on the river bank saw a man, presumably in a state of
intoxicated , swam a little, and disappeared from the surface. Independent searches yielded no results, and eyewitnesses contacted rescuers.
The drowned 27-year-old local resident was discovered by EMERCOM divers on June 9 at 15:30. Rescuers clarified that the deceased was swimming in an unequipped place.
EMERCOM employees warn:
it is important to take precautions when relaxing near water bodies. It is necessary to avoid swimming while intoxicated, as
ALCOHOL reduces reaction and impairs coordination of movements, thereby increasing the risk of accidents on the water. It is also worth swimming only in specially equipped places.
"Always supervise children near water. Explain to them safety rules and the need to avoid playing at the edge of the water without adult supervision," the rescuers clarified. "The duration of swimming depends on the air and water temperature, wind strength. Never go into the water during a thunderstorm. Do not swim to the deep end on mattresses and rings if you do not know how to swim, as they may deflate at the most inopportune moment."
