Agreement on the use of navigation seals should be launched in the EAEU in 2024

June 9, Moscow . The agreement on the use of navigation seals should come into force in the Eurasian Economic Union in 2024. Iya Malkina, official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission, said this at a briefing following the results of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council held in Sochi on June 7-8, in which Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko took part, BelTA has learned.

“We expect that the first testing of the use of navigation seals will actually begin from the beginning of 2024, as soon as the second level documents are adopted,” said Iya Malkina.

She recalled that the agreement on the use of navigation seals in the EAEU has already entered into force. “We are actively working on the development, adoption and coordination with member states of the so-called second level regulatory documents that go into the development of this agreement and detail some issues. In particular, a number of procedures and requirements have already been approved, for example, for navigation seals, and etc.," the official representative of the EEC explained.

Iya Malkina emphasized that in parallel with this agreement, the EAEU member countries are conducting experiments on the use of navigation seals. Members of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council reviewed the progress in the implementation of experiments on the use of electronic navigation seals. it was decided to sum up their results at the end of this year.

Thus, since February 13, an experiment has been carried out on the use of navigation seals for timber and woodworking products placed under the customs EXPORT procedure in Belarus and leaving the territory of the Russian Federation. In connection with the successful implementation of this experiment, the period of its implementation, originally planned until June 30, 2023, has been extended until the end of the year.

On June 6, an experiment was launched on the use of navigation seals for mutual trade goods transported by rail and (or) road transport. RUSSIA , Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan take part in it .

The development of the technology for the use of navigation seals in the framework of ongoing experiments will allow from January 2024 to smoothly begin to use navigation seals in relation to certain categories of goods (ALCOHOL , tobacco products and sanctioned products ) throughout the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.
