The tragedy occurred last night. While extinguishing a fire in a private house in the village of Korytnitsa, emergency workers discovered the bodies of the 62-year-old owner of the house and her 42-year-old nephew.
 
An investigative team is currently working at the scene of the fire. it was possible to establish that on the eve of the emergency, two nephews of a pensioner, together with a friend of one of them, usedALCOHOL and smoking on the veranda.  
“After the guest left, the relatives went to bed. Around midnight, the house caught fire. One of the nephews managed to get out through the window, the second began to save the elderly woman, but was unable to get out of the house,” the Investigative Committee explained.
 
The preliminary cause of the fire is said to be careless handling of fire while smoking.
 
The Belynichi ROSC is conducting an inspection. Particular attention will be paid to the causes and conditions that contributed to the tragedy.
