Investigative Committee disclosed details of a criminal case on a fatal collision with a pedestrian in Soligorsk

February 8, Minsk. The Soligorsk regional department of the Investigative Committee is investigating a criminal case on a fatal traffic accident. This was reported to BelTA by the Investigative Committee.

According to the investigation, on the morning of February 3 at an unregulated pedestrian crossing on the street. Zaslonova in Soligorsk BMW hit a 42-year-old man. Without slowing down, the driver fled the scene. The police officers detained him in the evening. It turned out to be a 29-year-old resident of Soligorsk.

According to the materials of the criminal case, on the evening of February 2, a man in the company of friends played board games and drank alcohol. When acquaintances began to disperse, he arrived home by taxi, took the keys to his car and met again with his friends, with whom he had been drinking alcohol all night . When in the morning the next portion of alcohol ended, the drunken company went for the supplement to the nearest store in the defendant's car. During this trip, a man who was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing was hit to death.

During the interrogation, the detainee told the investigator that he did not immediately realize what had happened. When studying the identity of the driver, it was established that he had previously been repeatedly brought to criminal responsibility, including for driving a car while intoxicated.

The actions of a 29-year-old resident of Soligorsk were qualified by the investigation under Part 4 of Art. 317 (violation of the rules of the road while intoxicated , negligently resulting in the death of a person) of the Criminal Code. With the sanction of the prosecutor, a measure of restraint in the form of detention was applied to him. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
