December 1, Mogilev. Incitement of social hatred, calls for destabilization of the political situation in the country and an act of terrorism - the judicial board of the Mogilev regional court decided to send the resident of Mogilev, born in 1993, to compulsory psychiatric treatment, BelTA informs.

It follows from the materials of the criminal case that since April of this year, the resident of Mogilev has been an active user of one of the destructive Telegram channels, in which the ideas of committing violent acts against law enforcement officers and various acts of terrorism in the country were discussed and supported.

For almost two months, he posted in the public domain messages containing insults that provoke hatred among chat users and a desire to use physical force against law enforcement officers. The expert found that the messages contain linguistic signs of inciting social and other hostility, signs of extremism.

He also actively discussed with the administrators of the destructive chat the possibility of committing various terrorist acts: the destruction of overpasses, administrative buildings of state institutions using improvised explosive devices.

After participating in the discussions, the young man decided to participate in this. Having received all the necessary information on the Internet on how to make an improvised explosive device, he made a Molotov cocktail from improvised means. On June 10, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication , he threw an incendiary mixture at the entrance group of the Mogilev Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at night. The young man caused material damage to the educational institution in the amount of about Br2.3 thousand. By his actions, he set fire, which could lead to death of people.

The Mogilev resident was charged with committing socially dangerous acts under part 1 of article 130 (inciting other social hatred and discord) and part 1 of article 289 (act of terrorism) of the Criminal Code. Taking into account the evidence presented by the prosecutor, the judicial collegium of the Mogilev Regional Court applied compulsory treatment to him in a psychiatric hospital with enhanced supervision.

The ruling has not entered into force, may be appealed or protested in the manner prescribed by law.
