Drunk resident Postavy made a fatal accident in Russia: the investigation of the criminal case is completed

January 30, Vitebsk. A resident of Postavy, who was visiting the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia in July 2019, committed an accident while intoxicated , as a result of which two people died and one received serious bodily injuries. Oksana Lazko, official representative of USC in the Vitebsk region, told a BelTA correspondent about this.

The company in which the post-stavchanin drank was located in the Gorodetsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region. A friend of his wrote to a resident of the Vitebsk region, and they agreed to meet. That same evening, at the agreed place, the Belarusian, taking a friend, met with her and her friend. Everyone went for a ride in a Volkswagen car. Due to a rather large dose of alcohol and the high speed at which the car raced, the 38-year-old from Stavka lost control, the car drove into a ditch and rolled over.

One of the women who was in the car died on the spot, his friend died the same day in the hospital. The second woman was seriously injured.

Law enforcement officers of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case into the death of people in an accident. Postavchanin immediately denied that he was driving. The experts found that the dead and injured woman were passengers, all were not wearing seat belts, and alcohol was found in everyone's blood . The driver's concentration was 4.48 ppm.

In the summer of 2022, Russian colleagues transferred the case materials to Belarus for further investigation. They were taken up by the investigators of the USC in the Vitebsk region, who appointed additional examinations, their production was entrusted to the State Committee for Forensic Examinations. An autotechnical examination found that the Volkswagen under the control of a post-State citizen was moving at a speed of almost 135 km/h, while the speed limit was 90 km/h.

It was also established that after an accident in Russia, a resident of Postavy lived in his small homeland, abused alcohol, was brought to administrative responsibility and evaded paying alimony for his 14-year-old daughter.

Based on the results of the investigation, the man was charged under part 5 of article 317 (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a vehicle while intoxicated, which negligently caused the death of two persons and causing serious bodily injury) and part 1 of article 174 (evasion of parents for more than three months during the year from the payment of funds for the maintenance of minor children by court order) of the Criminal Code. With the sanction of the prosecutor, a preventive measure in the form of detention was applied to a resident of Postavy.

The criminal investigation has been completed. The materials of the case were handed over to the prosecutor for sending to the court.
