Drunk driver caused a fatal accident in Mogilev: Investigative Committee opened a criminal case

March 21, Mogilev. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against a Porsche driver who killed a pedestrian in Mogilev, BelTA informs.

According to the investigation, on the evening of March 20, in the regional center at the intersection of Mira Avenue and Kosmonavtov Street, a 28-year-old Porsche driver ignored the demand of the traffic police to stop. A persecution began, during which on Stroiteley Street near the house No. 14, the driver of the car lost control and drove onto the sidewalk, where he knocked down a pedestrian and demolished a public transport stop. The victim died at the scene from his injuries.

The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident . The man is detained. Investigators, with the involvement of traffic police officers and specialists from the Mogilev region, conducted an inspection of the scene, recorded a trace picture, and appointed a number of examinations.

The Investigation Department of the USC for the Mogilev region initiated a criminal case under part 4 of article 317 (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a vehicle while intoxicated, resulting in the death of a person by negligence) of the Criminal Code of Belarus.
