September 16, Minsk . In Minsk, on Bangalore Square, a drunk driver caused an accident. As a result of the collision at the junction, one of the cars crashed into a road sign, BelTA was told by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

The accident happened around 4:30 today. When entering the roundabout, the 36-year-old Audi driver lost control and collided with a BMW that had stopped at a traffic light. The impact threw the vehicles off the roadway. BMW damaged a road sign. A 56-year-old passenger was injured and was taken to a healthcare facility with injuries.

The examination showed 1.6 ppm of alcohol in the 36-year-old offender. He was detained and the car was placed in a guarded parking lot. A notification letter was sent to the man’s place of work . Employees of the traffic police department of the Sovetsky district police department of Minsk worked at the scene of the incident.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds: for drunk driving, a fine of up to 200 basic units (1 BV - Br37) is applied with deprivation of the right to drive for up to five years. A similar violation repeated within a year will result in criminal liability and confiscation of the vehicle.
