
March 30, Minsk. The Main Investigation Department is investigating a criminal case on a traffic accident in which a 24-year-old resident of Minsk died. This was reported to BelTA by the Investigative Committee.
According to investigators, on the night of March 18, a 25-year-old Subaru driver drove near the house 33 along Pushkin Avenue, where he hit a 24-year-old girl. It is reported that she crossed the road at a regulated pedestrian crossing at a traffic light permitting signal. After that, the passenger car rammed a dividing fence, drove into the oncoming lane, crashed into a Skoda car and drove into a lighting tower. The culprit fled the scene of the accident, but was promptly detained by law enforcement officers. As a result of the accident, the girl received serious bodily injuries incompatible with life.It was found that the perpetrator of the accident never had a driver's license. In addition, the concentration of ethyl alcohol in his blood at the time of the accident was almost 1.5 ppm.
During interrogation, the man said that on the evening of March 18, he drank alcohol with a friend, after which he decided to drive through Minsk at night.
The investigator, using the capabilities of a mobile forensic laboratory, as well as together with a specialist from the GKSE, carefully examined the scene and recorded a trace picture. The defendant and witnesses were interrogated. A complex of expert studies has been appointed. When studying the personality of the defendant, it was established that he had previously been convicted of malicious hooliganism, which was also committed while intoxicated .
The man was charged under part 4 of article 317 (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a vehicle while intoxicated, resulting in the death of a person by negligence) of the Criminal Code. With the sanction of the prosecutor, he is in custody.
