
February 13, Minsk. About 500 cars were checked by traffic police officers of Vitebsk during the "Filter" event, BelTA learned from the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
"In order to stop traffic violations that affect road safety in Vitebsk, the traffic police held a special event "Filter" on Lenina Street. During the raid, inspectors checked about 500 cars," the department said.
In just three hours, drivers were identified who drove through a prohibiting traffic light, did not fasten their seat belt, and did not have permission to participate in road traffic. One driver was driving under the influence of alcohol .Traffic inspectors will continue to tighten control over the situation on the roads. Attention will be paid to compliance with speed limits, rules for overtaking and driving into oncoming traffic, passing pedestrian crossings and intersections.
The department recalled that from February 11 to February 14, the traffic police of the Vitebsk, Gomel and Mogilev regions are conducting a large-scale development of the M8 highway on the border of Russia - Vitebsk - Gomel - the border of Ukraine ("Novaya Guta") using covert and mixed control.
