Law enforcement officers detained an aggressive Minsk resident armed with knives with gunfire

November 18, Minsk .Law enforcement officers detained an aggressive Minsk resident armed with knives with gunfire. This was reported to BELTA by the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

The capital's police received a report that a man who was visiting an apartment on Kholmogorskaya Street was causing a row, breaking down the door and attacking a girl. Police officers immediately went to the scene. Having found the aggressor with two knives at the address, the police officers demanded that he calm down and drop the weapon on the floor. He ignored the law enforcement officers' repeated legal demands and, waving the knives, headed towards them, posing a real threat to their lives and health. The officers warned them about using their service weapons, but the latter continued moving. The police officer shot the aggressor in the legs. After that, the man was given first aid and handed over to medics.

The suspect was a 31-year-old Minsk resident, previously convicted several times, including for hooliganism and drug trafficking. The man had also previously been brought to administrative responsibility for appearing in a public place in a state ofalcohol intoxication .
